Global Citizenship, Inclusion & Diversity

One of the goals of CEDARS-Student Development is to build global citizenship as an ongoing programme to enhance students' awareness of global issues like climate change, AIDS and fair trade; to educate students to be a global citizen and to explore the relationship between global citizenship and students responsibilities in other areas.

We also aim at fostering students as the vanguard for social reform of the new century, like the Intensified Learning Opportunity Programme (ILOP).

At HKU, a number of student groups as the youth pioneers in advocating global citizenship were set up. They include:

• Beyond the Pivot (BTP)
• Burma Connect()
• Climate Chance
• Fair Trade Voice
• Hong Kong Alliance Against AIDS (HKAAA)
• Humanity in Focus (HIF)
• Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
• Campus Y of HKU
• Young Drucker Undergraduate (YDU)
